About Creative Adventure Downunder (CAD)

This three day weekend retreat is all about immersing yourself in classes hosted by premier tutors of the papercraft industry today.

Each year we strive to bring to you an array of classes that are sure to get your creative juices flowing. This retreat is a busy weekend with back to back classes. Saturday night is set aside as Crop Night should you choose to do so, lots of fun to be had at crop night. We've found that participants enjoy sitting with their friends and the tutors while they work on completing projects from the classes held during Friday and Saturday. It's a great time to kick back and get to know the tutors a little more.

If your passion is paper craft, no matter what level you think you are at you will find this weekend totally inspiring!

There’s always such excitement in the air as everyone arrives for the first class on Friday morning and that buzz of excitement continues through to the last person leaving on Sunday afternoon. It’s definitely a time for kindred spirits to gather and there are lots of hugs at the end!

What else can we expect?

The Conference Centre is located in Mt Wellington at the Waipuna Hotel.  Free parking onsite.

For those wishing to stay at the hotel, there is a special conference prices:

Room only rate per night $189.00 single or twin
Room and single breakfast $219.00 single occupancy
Room and two breakfast $249.00 twin occupancy or a couple

Creative Adventure Downunder (CAD) is all about classes, they are built into the package with more limited cropping time available.

What are the official hours of the retreat?

• First class commences on Friday morning at 9am, with the day ending around 5.30pm.
• Saturday classes start at 8.30 - 9am and run through to 6pm’ish. The evening is then yours to do as you wish? You may choose to go out to dinner, meet a friend or bring something back to the crop room, then join others to crop together through to around 10pm - 11pm, leaving us just enough time to set up for the morning class.
• Sunday morning we’re straight back into class around 9am and the event concludes approx 2pm.  Timing depends on the classes being taught.

What if we need product, tools or supplies? Do not despair! “The Shop” is on-site and opens at 8am on Friday morning and closes at 1pm on Sunday. We hold supplies of the essential items required for the weekend. We also offer extra product as used in classes where possible plus a whole lot of other up to the minute goodness! Paying is easy too, you can run a tab for the weekend, so you just pay once at the end! We accept cash or internet banking.

Event Price? $650

What’s included in the price? All classes including class kits with our talented tutors and catering during the weekend. Accommodation is NOT included.

What Catering is included? Friday and Saturday Lunch and Afternoon Tea included. On Sunday there is Morning Tea only as we wrap up approx 2pm.
